Celebrities start many trends and the newest one seem to be with single females. Angelina Jolie has adopted twice and even Jessica Simpson who is soon to be divorced has been speaking of her hopes to adopt in the near future.

Some hopes that with this backing, regular single people can hope to adopt a child without jumping through more hoops than Shamu. A bill that Rep. Steve Tulley was hoping would pass that would put married couples above everyone else failed to pass mid-April and I can’t say I’m sad about that.

Yes it is great when a child has two wonderful parents. But they have to realize that this isn’t the 50’s or 60’s. One great parent is better than two not so great ones. Also because a married couple steps into the adoption agency doesn’t make them any better qualified than a single woman who desperately wants to adopt the same as them.
