An interesting experiment
June 13th, 2007 by BevinI am absolutely single. It’s true, and I’m actually not upset about it. I like the freedom. I enjoy my life. I’m relatively successful, by many people’s standards. I have a fabulous group of friends and family. I own my own condo. I have a job, one that I love. And so, when I say this, it’s not out of desperation, yet out of experimentation.
I decided to get engaged this year.
The reason I bring this up is because I think that this will be an interesting place to document the events that occur over the next 6-12 months (and perhaps I’ll transfer over to the Wedding Planning Blog? Ha!) Because I agree that you won’t find something by forcing it to happen. So, if I don’t get engaged, I won’t be crushed (I really won’t.) But I do believe that your energy goes where your focus is. So, of course I am incredibly focused on my career and want it to succeed. But, I also believe that it is time to share all of my life with someone else.
Which is, perhaps, a deviation from some of the other posts on The Single Life but also maybe a bit refreshing to believe that it is also okay to want to include a relationship in career and excitement and networking and late nights and hot outfits and tall high heels.
