Online Dating Review

November 27th, 2007 by Always A Bridesmaid

So I checked out the DateHookup.com. I was pretty interested in seeing what DateHookup had to offer, and I was a bit disappointed to find it’s a typical dating and chatting site, most notable because it’s really free, not free-to-browse-but-pay-to-message-anyone. I know that I am in a very small minority here, but I don’t like the super-customizable user pages. Give me normal black text on a white background, please. No blinky emotes, no songs. (This is why I’m not cool enough for MySpace)

One weird thing is the “profiles I’ve viewed” bit at the bottom of a profile. Actually, I suppose it’s flattering to know who’s looked at your page, but a bit creepy that everyone on the site know who you’ve viewed.

Verdict: Friendly forums are the only thing that makes this any different from the dozens of other dating sites.
