It must be a day for single men to reveal themselves. I had one man come up to me, saying that he couldn’t understand why anyone would date. According to him, women were becoming feminists that hated men for no reason and that the gender war was on to separate all of us.

Well, being a woman myself, and a little aggravated at the comment, I started to wonder too, what was happening to our genders where women are more manly than men and men are becoming metrosexuals.

For men, I can’t set an excuse, because I’m not a man and can’t speak for what they’ve become. But for women, I can understand the feminist viewpoint. Unfortunately, men have become either completely dumbed down, or are just complete jerks. There is a combination of them thinking they have it all and know it all, or that they don’t want to know anything. Women are reacting. Either we have to overly step up to get the men thinking, or to stop being arrogant.

So, single women of the future… the question is - where do we go from here? I’ll tell you one thing I know. If men don’t start acting like balanced human beings, you can forget ever wanting to be with them. But at the same time - what are we supposed to do in order to stop the gender war of stepping all over each other? Obviously, we can’t go back to submitting to men, but there has to be a way to get into the realm of having equality and respect at the same time.

For us single women, we have an advantage. It’s much easier to believe in ourselves and follow our hearts and to find the respect that we need as our own entity. It may mean that we have to be single for a lot longer - until we can find the man that’s not a complete idiot or gerk - but it’s well worth the wait. Or at least I would hope so.
