How to Add Versatility to Your Conversation
May 28th, 2008 by KathyHave you ever been trying to get to know someone and went blank as to what to say or find yourself asking the same mundane questions that don’t allow you to see beyond the usual? Adding a little versatility to your conversation can help you get to know someone better. Anything can come out!
Suggestions:
* Ask what their taste is in music. This can be expanded on by asking about favorite artists, concerts they’ve been to, etc.
* Ask what they were like as a child and what their most cherished childhood memory is. Or…you could ask what their most embarrassing childhood memory is.
* Ask which movie character they would choose to play their real-life story
* Ask what their favorite time of day is and why
* Ask which famous person they would like to meet and why and what they would ask during the meeting
* Ask what the most daring thing they’ve ever tried is and what the results were
* Ask where they would like to see themselves in 10 years
* Ask which animal describes their personality best
I’m sure you can think of more conversation starters. These can lead to fun and interactive conversation, but best of all, you get to see another part of the person you are trying to get to know better.
