Age does/doesn’t matter…

August 26th, 2008 by cotton yuson

i’ve been in some people would a may-december affair. my ex-partner is 15 years older than me yet that age difference did not hinder us from having an easy, carefree and fun-filled relationship. some people would opt to have a partner that is near his/her age bracket and close out possibilities of relationships with anyone older than them. it would be understandable for society to see a girl with guy who is a few years older than her but of course society would be raising their brows when a guy goes out with a woman who is way older than him or a girl going out with a man way older than him. like my previous relationship, my friends and family has been against it, in this case, for them age really does matter. back then, i was too young to heed their advice and pushed through what i thought wanted. experience taught me hard on heeding advices, should have listened more.

in relationship, being young or old should really not matter. i don’t think age is synonymous with maturity. though usually, being young is also associated with being immature. when one person decides to go into a relationship, he/she should be sure on that they are emotionally, mentally and physically mature to take on whatever the consequences of their decisions.
