Getting Rid of a Hangover

Ok, you’ve done it this time. You went out with friends, and had a few too many. You managed to pour yourself into bed at some god-awful hour, and you’ve awakened with a raging hangover. How do you deal with it? Here are some tips.

-Drink plenty of fruit juice and water. You are most likely dehydrated, which is a big part of why a hangover makes you feel so lousy.

-Sleep it off. Call in to work, if you have to. Tell them you have the stomach flu, unless your co-workers were out with you last night, in which case, you are busted.

-Take a shower, alternating between hot and cold.

-Hair of the dog. Drink a Bloody Mary, or an Irish coffee. Your body will begin dealing with the new alcohol, and ignore the stuff that’s already there.

-Alka-Seltzer Morning Relief works wonders….I can vouch for that myself.

-Get some exercise. It may seem counterintuitive when you can barely stand without barfing, but any activity that makes you sweat will aid in flushing the alcohol out of your system.

The only sure way to avoid a hangover is to abstain from drinking. That doesn’t always happen, so use these tips, and others widely available on the internet, to get rid of that pesky “brown bottle flu”.
