Do you have a friend who complains that men are idiots, yet dumbs herself down to seem more attractive? We all do. And she is probably the one having more meaningless hookups and getting more action than you are. Why do women feel that to appear more attractive to men they must seem less intelligent than they actually are? For hundreds of years, a woman’s opinion was not approved of and definitely not asked for. Now, stereotypes and gender roles have supposedly changed, but have they in actuality? Aren’t men still a little scared of a woman who can match them jab for jab? And when a woman makes more money than most, is this something she advertises in the same way that men do? Not really. There are plenty of men out there who want a confident, self-sufficient woman, but plenty of women still feel the need to flip their hair and make inane comments. This seems a little backwards to me. So ladies next time you tell someone your favorite TV show, don’t feel the need to say Gossip Girl, even if it’s West Wing, House, or anything on the History channel.
