Makeup and moderation

Makeup and its uses are an essential mystery to men and an essential part of life to women. The way women use makeup can affect a man’s first and lasting impression of them. While the pages of magazines like Cosmopolitan and Glamour are littered with ads of women in wild makeup, this is rarely attractive to men. A rainbow of colors on your eyelid does not make you look like a model, it makes you look like a clown. Caking foundation onto your face is also not attractive to men. It can’t hide the worst skin and it does nothing for the best, so leave thick foundation in the cabinet. Skin should be soft and radiant, best achieved by a healthy regimen of washing and moisturizing as well as bronzer and blush. Light lip gloss is appropriate, or lipstick if you prefer. Too much of it is definitely a kissing turnoff though. Smoky eyes are always acceptable, as well a chic liner that complements your eyes. Gold shadow is sexy, as is any simple shade that is skillfully applied. Please, no crazy colors. Men do notice mascara, so over-application is not a good idea. Keep it simple and naturally attractive and you can’t go wrong!
