No Way of Turning Back to Single Life
During my high school days, I’ve been in a group of three. We really enjoy our company a lot. Lucky I am to have these two girls as my friends then. After we graduated in high school, we did not have the chance to meet again, not even heard a single word about each one of us. But I am still hoping that day will come to meet and talk to them. My wish was granted when I unexpectedly bump with one of them amidst the crowded lobby of a Mall. We were really surprised and stunned for a moment recognizing each other. We were really happy for that unexpected meeting.
We got the chance to chat about our activities and more. She was married for 12 years but seems not happy. She was very vocal in saying that she feels bitter about her marriage, that if she could be given a chance she would rather stay single. She also uttered her envy of my situation being single. She told me how she is getting through her everyday life with her hubby. This made me realized that everything happened for a reason. If my memory serves me well, she was the one then that was telling us that she would not allow anybody to caused burden to her life. That she will make it sure to have a happy married life, without hurdling in anything she wants to do. I really pity her for what she is going through now which according to her was no way of turning back, but I could not tell her how I am thankful for being single where I could enjoy and do what ever I want without pressure and resentment. Being single is sometimes an advantage in only some aspects but definitely not in general. I could be thankful being single every time I heard such stories but sometimes bitter upon hearing successful married life.
