The Case of the Ex

People always say that time heals all wounds. Admittedly, I didn’t really believe it.. at first.

When you’ve gone through a bad break-up, it is pretty difficult to forgive an ex-boyfriend. You go through stages and it will definitely reach a point where you feel betrayed and completely crushed. It seems impossible to even entertain the thought of being friends again.

But as cliché as it sounds, time did heal my wounds. About 8 years ago, I went through a very bad break-up. I was bitter, negative and forgiveness was far from my mind. I never thought me and my ex could ever be friends again but fast forward to today, it seems that everything has changed. We had a common group of friends and before we knew it, we were greeting each other and chit-chatting.

I’m not saying it’s easy, because it’s definitely not. If there’s one important thing that you need to keep in mind, it’s the fact that you need to take your time. You cannot force anything on anyone. Allow yourself to grieve and be angry. Eventually, you will come to a realization that you need to move on and both of you are living separate lives. When you reach that point, then it is easier for you to at least be in speaking terms with an ex.

It IS possible. But remember, you need to work on yourself first. :)
