Some people wonder why they never get a 2nd date and are hopelessly single. First impressions are important. Manners count and can make the difference for a good or a bad impression.
If a person has bad manners on a 1st date, chances are they won’t improve if you should get into a relationship with them. Bad manners are a warning sign. No one is perfect, but there are certain standards of how to act on a 1st date.
What not to do:
Don’t keep your date wondering where you are–or if you will even show up at all. Be punctual.
Don’t talk while chewing food. Don’t chomp either.
Don’t ramble on incessantly, disregarding what your date has to say.
Don’t brag about your job, your possessions. Be humble and sincere.
Don’t be rude to waiters/waitresses at a restaurant.
Don’t talk about exes.
Don’t talk harshly about other people.
If you want to make a good first impression use good manners by being well-groomed, being thoughtful and kind, making your date feel at ease and be respectful in words and actions.
