Demanding Respect

As a single woman it is important in the dating world as in all other aspects of your life to demand respect. Women who insist upon being respected and treated well are less likely to end up in abusive relationships or to be used by a guy. There are many different aspects of respect that should be looked at when dealing with dating. It isn’t so much a matter of following dating etiquette rules. It doesn’t matter who asks the other one out or who pays when you go out. What matters is that a guy has respect for your feelings, your beliefs and your choices. A guy who respects you will never resort to calling you names, or pushing you around. He may not always agree with you, but he will be willing to listen and compromise. If you are a single woman searching for someone special make sure that you don’t jump into a relationship with the first guy who shows an interest, take your time to find someone who is truly interested in all parts of you, not just a sexual attraction, find someone who respects you and enjoys spending time with you outside the bedroom. After all it’s pretty easy to connect with someone on a physical level, but developing a real intimate relationship takes time and effort, and step one is always demanding respect.
