I’m a single woman and mother, so double whammy! Although I believe my sons inspired me to become a better person, it isn’t nice being a single parent. I’m a 100% single mother, which means the father of my children is out of the picture completely. He decided if I wouldn’t be with him, then he couldn’t also be a father to his sons. He’s a self-centered jerk who doesn’t know what he’s missing out on. He’s missed every memory a parent should have of their child.
It’s difficult being a single mother, but with hard work and perseverance, you can do it! The difficult part of being a single mother is the fact that I the person my children turn to for everything! When I’m tired and my son needs help with a project or my other son needs a ride to practice, I’m the person they turn to. I’m their everything – mom, dad, chauffeur, maid, nanny, teacher, chef, counselor, bank, etc. Being a single mother is a challenge on a daily basis. The one good thing I have to say about being a single mother is that struggles in my life have given me more appreciation for life. My struggles have also given me more character, integrity, and empathy. These characteristics have made me a better person. Being a single mother has made me a better person!
