Living Single

Living Single was a hit TV show in he 90s. It was innovative when it came around. Four young single women ( and 2 men) all professionals, living and looking for love. It was a portrait that was just beginning to be accepted at the time. Nowadays living single seems to be the norm. It is really a great thing. Women no longer feel pressured into being wives and mothers before they are ready. They feel that they can take their time, develop a career, travel the world and be just fine without a husband to “call the shots” for them. This revelation might be just what our society needs. First of all, taking time to think about marriage and kids or anything else is always a good thing. The more thought that goes into it the less mistakes and messy divorces will come as a result. Also as more women feel that they don’t have to be mothers the less likely child abuse and children suffering. Lets face it some people are either not read or not cut out to be parents. By jumping into such a huge responsibility they set themselves up for failure and resentment. Living single, at least temporarily, could be the answer to all of those problems. At the very least it gives us enough time to figure out what it is we really want and need in a mate.
