This fabulous night was established in 1997 and is the longest-running night in Vancouver that's dedicated to the Goth/Industrial/Underground and alternative music culture. DJ Pandemonium who started the night is still keeping it alive and beating serving the best of alternative/synth/electro/new wave/80's/90's/rock/goth/industrial/ebm/ and synthpop. Now joined with DJ's R-Lex, Vortex, Contrasoma and periodic guests; its taken hold on Saturdays instead of Sundays in the infamous thriving ground of Sin City at its home in Club 23 West. It was built in the 1920's as part of the Butterworth's Mortuary as a place to honor the physical world passing into the spiritual world. Its is off this theme that the bar still thrives - bringing together people to honor one another, but in a different way. Its both a bar and a restaurant, serving fine food, fine spirits, and merging in culture, arts, and music. The drinks while higher priced are fabulously delicious. I haven't tried the food but I've heard excellent things. This is a top-notch establishment. Rating: 5 stars out of 5.

The music was fabulous and stunning while mixed with a genuine absinthe bar. Occurs every friday night at the Monte Cristo. Darkwave, Ethereal Danse Macabre, Tribal, and Medieval. Excellent musical blends. The ambience, the setting, the music, the lights, the patrons, victorian decor, the art ... all make this one of my favorite Goth clubs. Fantastic job Xian! A must visit. They are now at a much better location - Boardners, the home to the infamous Bar Sinister and the new location suits Perversion so much better than many of the previous locations I attended. Packed wall to wall with Goths and those dressed in black, it was a madhouse meat market of the gothic array. The Bondage show is back if full spectrum with Sal from the Dungeon at Blue, an Absenthe lounge upstairs, live performances, sexy doms, and incredible dance music downstairs with Bractune and Amanda spinning the main room with industrial techno, dark tekno, and noise. Bruce spins out on the patio a nonconformist mix of Goth, Dark Wave, Alternative, and Indie. The downset to the night is how crowded it often is, at least the evening of 7/3/08 where it was packed and space was difficult to find or obtain on the dance floor to get your frustrations out. If you have gone through a rough breakup recently chances are that you don't want to get out the house because of your newly formed bond with a tub of Ben & Jerry's and sappy love films. The fact of the matter is that this new habit is very self destructive not only for you, but your waist-line as well. You need to get out and find your rebound. The best neighborhood to do that in NYC is soho/noho. With cute little bars disguised as cafes and cute hipster men swarming the sidewalks, you are bound to find your rebound. So get up off of your almost close to fat ass, get your party clothes on, grab some friends, hail a cab and get your freak on.

The Underground's start of a positive trend with a new (potentially monthly) fabulous night called "BackTrax" specializing in the fabulous tunes of the alternative 70's/80's with one of Colorado Springs' hottest DJ's ... DJ Gypsy. The atmosphere was stepping back into the past with patrons dressed up in their 80's attire. The music spectacular, and the dancing fanatic. Fun was had all night long. Remind guests to bring along their bathing suits, and towels, if you won't have enough. Plan a menu. Keep the food light since your guests will be swimming. Avoid alcohol for swimmers. Serve sodas, teas, and juices instead. Make sure the pool is clean. Provide a room for people to change into or out of bathing suits, if they need to. Have some extra sunscreen on hand. Set up a number of patio chairs and tables around the pool area for your guests. Set up two additional large tables, one for snacks, the other for beverages. Arrange an ample supply of plates, cups, napkins, and utensils on the serving tables. Set up a stereo and speaker system near the pool for some background music. Be creative when decorating. Arrange sand and seashells in kiddie pools or sandboxes around the pool area. Have some party games prepared. "Sharks and Minnows" and "Marco Polo" are popular pool games.
