This chain of rather ornate bar/restaurants that you can find all over the UK always offers a good quality experience, regardless of when you decide to visit. Day time or night time you get drink offers or excellent meals, in a pleasant environment. Yet I discovered the best Wetherspoons in all the cities I have been to, in Liverpool. A massive bar ordained with wine on tap lined with bottles of unique lagers and ciders is the main talking point. Surrounded by a large room which covers the whole corner of one block in the city centre, its filled with almost a hundred tables. The walls of the adults-only area are lined with old first-edition volumes of obscure novels and textbooks from the fifties and further back, which is a nice touch. Whether you wanted to go watch sport or did want to go and meet people of your own age for a civil conversation this is a nice place to go.

It was built in the 1920's as part of the Butterworth's Mortuary as a place to honor the physical world passing into the spiritual world. Its is off this theme that the bar still thrives - bringing together people to honor one another, but in a different way. Its both a bar and a restaurant, serving fine food, fine spirits, and merging in culture, arts, and music. The drinks while higher priced are fabulously delicious. I haven't tried the food but I've heard excellent things. This is a top-notch establishment. Rating: 5 stars out of 5.

Whenever I go out with friends, we don’t do the bar-hopping thing that we used to do a few years ago. I think the reason is because we matured a lot through the years and we don’t get to see each other very often so we are content with having dinner and coffee afterwards. It’s like we cherish quiet moments and a place where we can share stories and updates on each other’s lives. Unlike in bars where you have to shout just to understand each other. We usually choose a nice restaurant or try a new one that has good reviews. Sometimes we choose a restaurant-bar which has a live band entertaining guests. This is also good because while eating, we get to listen to good music and can even request for our favorites for the band to sing. After dinner, we just head to our favorite coffee shop and I order my favorite frappuccino. My girl friends and I are so close and we make it a point to bond once in a while. Now, all of us are committed but we promised each other that we’ll take a breather from our busy lives to just catch up like old ...

But Belgium fries to die for next door and attached - so can enjoy with your favorite beverage. A different ambiance than the last location, still a great place to hang out. You can find good music flowing there every now and then, unless you're into hiphop and lounge - where your ear palates would be pleased. Good drink specials and a friendly staff. Plush seating and rich decor. I visited the Salotto for the first time after our Zombie Crawl. I'll definitely be back. Had no idea this little entity existed and I'm doubly impressed. The Underground Corner of Kiowa and Nevada, Downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado Rating: 3 stars out of 5 visited: 9/8/06 A thriving nightlife hotspot notorious for its several rooms, friendly staff, great food, potent drinks, and reputation for being the best gay friendly bar in the Springs. Nic, the excellent bartender, was tending later in the evening, and is one of the best bartenders in the Springs. DJ Omega and Tony Garcia were DJ'ing through the night, with some excellent selections and great music. Food is excellent. However, big complaint is that they don't get the night started till much later in the evening, and is a bit boring from 9 pm - 10:30 pm, until the dance floor is activated. Poorly attended the night we went, but we'll be back.

With a delicious sushi bar in one of the back rooms, this bar has it all. I originally visited the Church during the Colorado Dark Arts Festival and had an incredible time at their establishment and fell in love with the ambiance. Unfortunately they don't have goth nights in the upstairs - but rather the basement. Sunday nights they have an official Goth in the basement and hiphop up above. On Fridays, one of the rooms downstairs is Goth - and has great dancing, music, ambiance. Gets crowded, and often the techno-raver or hiphop crowd from the other rooms or upstairs will merge into the Goth room, destroying part of the ambience. THe sushi bar is ecstatic. Great smoking patio for those that smoke now that Colorado has no-smoking ban indoors. Great staff and bartenders - drink prices are a bit high. So is cover on Friday nights ($10). Barracuda's 1076 Ogden St. Denver, CO 80218 * 303-860-8353 An almost 24 hour diner/restaurant in the heart of Denver's capital hill district on Ogden. A great place for after partying grub. Service is a bit slow, but at least during our visit, great 80's music selections creating a good atmosphere. The food was very good and the service was friendly and good (but slow).
