Life is full of challenges, whether you are married or unmarried. Marriage brings a huge change in our lives, where we have to share each and everything with the spouse. Unmarried life is a kind of carefree life where we are free and can take decisions without much planning as we don’t have a family like spouse and kids to think of. Responsibilities are less. As the value of commitment is diminishing, people prefer being unmarried and single as long as possible. Now more and more people enjoy being single because there is no commitment and they can lead their life on their own principles and the way in which they want it to be. We don’t even want to go through the stress due to fights and expectations which marriage brings along. Many people now are enjoying and are quite successful in life being single. The only disadvantage seen is the lack of love, care and steady commitment.

The adage goes “He who travels alone travels fastest.” Another adage goes “Never tie a knot that you cannot untie.” These ancient philosophy harp on the merits of going single. Single life has its advantages, mainly being free to do what one pleases and when one pleases. The flip side of single life is a finding a lack of purpose in life. Man lives through effort, and without a partner or a descendant who would reap the benefit of such toil, man soon beginning to wonder why he toils, which would soon lead to him questioning the very purpose of his existence. This would make him lazy, complacent, and can either sap his energy and become a mental wreck, or lead him into anti-social activities. Another adverse consequence of being single is not being able to share ones joys, emotions, sorrows or the like. A single life would also mean a person not having anyone to help him in times of need.

I've been single for quite some time - almost four years. For the most part, I like it this way. I don't have a burning desire to be in a relationship or even to date. I enjoy building my life up, discovering more of myself and providing for myself. But, I do see some disadvantages of the single life. It seems if you are single, friends and family aren't that interested in your life. If you have a new friend, it isn't newsworthy unless they are of a romantic interest. Friends can go on and on about their boyfriends, girlfriends or spouse, but anything that's going on in your life is at the bottom of the interest ladder. They don't seem to understand that whatever is going on in your life is meaningful to you, no matter if it doesn't include a romantic interest. Notice how they cut you off to talk about their life? But, the minute you would get involved with a romantic interest their interest would peak. I find that strange! Another disadvantage is when a scary situation comes up such as a tornado watch we had in my area the other day or a fight that broke out ...

Before I had a baby, I enjoyed so much living a single life literally, after work my friends would go to a bar and chill for a little while after a tiring work. I enjoyed being single since I don't have to worry about anything else but myself. There are no worries regarding lovers quarrel which makes you even get depressed at times. I had all the time to go out of town with my friends without asking permission from somebody else except for my parents. Many people think that being single is not good since you don't share your life to somebody else yet I can say and basing it from my experience I enjoyed every moment of it with my friends. I was able to meet so many people and even go on dates without a commitment. Being single is a choice and not merely a chance. Its not at all a loss if you are single like me yet enjoy it as much as you could just like what I did so I was able to experience a lot of things that any other married person won't be able to experience.

In life we are bound to have a lot of bad experiences and a break up before or after marriage are always quite painful. Relationship between couples is based on a thin wire and it’s delicate too. It’s difficult to strive through such situations and keeping the cool maintained after that. We get depart from some one we love from bottom of our heart and suddenly if he or she is no more around you feel lonely. Loneliness is the cause of mental problems some times. Such situations require sticking down to our soul and talking to some one who can understand you well. Don’t get frustrated if you really want to get separated, get yourself convinced that some thing worse could have happened. And if you miss her and this break up happened due to your mistake say sorry and accept your mistake and if she is guilty take a lead in forgiving. Remember by doing either things you will develop an even better relationship. Remember we can not live without our beloved ones, break up is a sad part of life it should not be permanent and the only fact. Have a great life…

It's really hard to find the one who will truly loves you and care for you. Sometimes I feel bored on waiting for the right man to come. If only I can be the first one to approach a guy... but since it's not my nature I'm still here waiting. Being a single is a lonely feeling deep inside my heart especially when I'm not with my friends. I wish I can talk to someone and share my worries, excitement and opinions on a different level than friends. Someone I can talk with sweet nothings that can ponder my heart. I miss being in a relationship. But I know that time will come and God will give me what I truly deserves.
